Kakori House claims to have world’s softest kebabs. Debatable, but there’s no doubt that their signature Kakori kebabs are really soft and juicy. We however prefer the Galauti Kebabs which are spicier and really tasty – ala Tundae Kebabs from Lucknow.
Kakori House has four restaurants in Mumbai (Mahim, Sakinaka, Oshiwara and Bandra) – tiny joints more in the nature of pick-up joints. Food quality and taste is consistent across every outlet. It’s fairly expensive though for the ambience, set up and overall experience – rates comparable to far better restaurants.
How is the Ambience at Kakori House, Oshiwara? Nothing special. Cramped up place with table thrown in… Unfriendly waiters serving you impersonally. Same is not the case in other outlets which are much smaller but with staff eager to serve.
What should you order at Kakori House Oshiwara? Would recommend the Mutton Galwti Kebabs with their Parathas … awesome combination and an all-time favorite of ours. Next would be the Dum Lucknowi Biryani – which we consider to be one of the best you can get in Mumbai. They have been hiking the price every 6-8 months and now one plate (difficult to finish by one person) costs around Rs. 330. We have had their Mutton Haleem as well. Again excellent.
Where is Kakori House located in Oshiwara? Right opposite Sammy Sosa at Andheri (W). Not very difficult to find with good parking in the vicinity (can be terrible though over weekend !!)
